7.0 IMAGE.DAT

The IMAGE.DAT file contains (at a minimum) the entire UDF-Bridge volume for the disc. On the DVD disc, the UDF-Bridge volume is stored in consecutive 2048 byte Image Data fields within the data area of the disc.

 

To satisfy certain application requirements, the IMAGE.DAT file can optionally store the CPR_MAI or ID, IED, CPR_MAI, and EDC in addition to the Image data for each sector of the DVD disc.

Therefore, the DVD Data Layout defines the following three (3) IMAGE.DAT file formats with record sizes of 2048, 2054 and 2064 Bytes.

Note: The CPR_MAI Data of IMAGE.DAT shall conform to the DVD version 1.0 Specification (Part 1: Physical Specification).
